Inclusive Practices & Special Education Expert
I have been a passionate advocate for inclusive practices, programs, and services throughout my many positions within public education, serving Pre-K through Post-Secondary education. Our school communities must embrace compassion, collaboration, and creativity. Each parent/guardian/caregiver entrusts their school communities to care for, educate, and prepare their student(s) to become the amazing humans they can be. With this, I believe that three fundamental goals must be met to create the bridge to empower our future:
1. Every child deserves a high-quality education that acknowledges and celebrates diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
2. Every parent/guardian/caregiver feels welcomed and encouraged to engage in their child(s) learning and school community.
3. Every teacher, staff member, and leader is provided with and receives the necessary preparation and support for their professional growth and success.
Personal Experience as a Parent Navigating the School System
In the 2023-2024 school year, I shifted from being a full-time educational leader to a stay-at-home mom and educational consultant to support our family and two young children, particularly one of our daughters, who has struggled with social-emotional and health needs. This experience has given me invaluable insights as a parent navigating the school and healthcare systems. It has strengthened my aspirations to support and become the bridge for schools and parents/guardians/caregivers in working with compassion, collaboration, and creativity.
